Last weekend, June 10th, we had the official kick off for the Healthy Seas diving season 2017 at the North Sea.
The lost fishing gear removal action was executed at the shipwreck ‘Rode Poon’ (Red Gurnard), infamous by the huge amounts of lost gear present on the shipwreck. The visibility was good and the divers managed to remove approximately 300KG of lost fishing gear including lead weights used by recreational anglers. Without doubt we will return to the ‘Rode Poon’ because despite all the work of previous years it is clear that there is still a lot of work to be done on this shipwreck.
Our next North Sea diving mission is planned for Sunday July 16th. Please keep your fingers crossed for good weather conditions!
