Honorary professorship for Ghost Fishing UK chairman

Ghost Fishing UK are very pleased to announce that our chairman Dr Richard Walker, has been granted the title of Honorary Associate Professor in the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society, in recognition of his on-going work with Heriot-Watt University.

I’m sure we all agree that this is very well deserved and all of us at Ghost Fishing UK and our supporters are very proud.

In April, Richard attended the European Conference for Scientific Diving (ECSD) which was held up in Orkney at the Heriot-Watt campus. He gave a talk on ghost fishing and linked up with organisations and individuals who would like to work with us.

Rich said, “The ECSD was a fantastic event, with so many talented people giving presentations on the application of scientific diving. We managed to make lots of interesting contacts, and have some great ideas for improving the scientific quality of work that we do at Ghost Fishing UK.”
